What is the purpose of WOW?
WOW stands for Weather Observations Website. It is a global network of weather observations where the public can view and share their measurements. Users can freely view, share, compare and archive current and previous weather observations from privately-owned weather stations and official National Meteorological Service weather stations.
Will weather data from private weather stations be used for any other purposes?

Why is the WOW map so slow to load?
The load time is based on the time between our call to the global WOW server and when it returns the request.
Why is my weather station not sending data to WOW?
Please check the communication settings between your weather station and WOW upload software. Weather Station Information is available here . Met Éireann cannot provide any technical assistance on weather station upload issues on WOW-IE.
What is the difference between these reports and the reports on www.met.ie ?
WOW-IE displays weather observations from various sources in real-time. Met Éireann does not correct or review WOW data, hence incorrect values or missing data may occur, even from official stations such as our own AWS and ACS on WOW-IE. The past weather reports on WOW are not quality controlled, however the data in the reports on Met.ie Available Data section have been quality controlled.
How do I add my weather station to the WOW-IE map?

Why do some stations have reports that seem very inaccurate?
WOW-IE is made available "as is", without any guarantee of correction, use or accuracy for any purpose other than that for which it is made available. Met Éireann does not accept any liability whatsoever for any error or omission in the data, their availability, or for any loss or damage arising from their use.
